FRENCH BUGLE CALLS.
To-day M. Millerand, Minister o' War, is the idol of the barracks, sayr a Paris correspondent. He has re stored the old bugle calls. His ver; proclamation had a military ring, and is in itself a bugle call: “The re-es tahlishment of the calls which mark the chief moments in the life of r regiment cannot fail to have a happ; effect upon the spirit of the soldiei by restoring to the barracks a gaieto and animation desirable from ever; point of view. Therefore, I decree tin re-establishment in all regiments pro vided with bugles of the follow m calls: The Reveille, the Dinner Call the Muster, and the Curfew.” N* one, continues the correspondent knows why these calls were suppressed
and their restoration will add much t< tho gaiety and colour of the littl garrison towns, whose pleasures am interests are sp closely hound up wit 1 the life of the soldiers in their midst
