The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows under date London, August 2nd: Butter.-—The Aruwa, from New Zealand, carrying 5 boxes butter and 5700 crates of hceese, is the only arrival this week with Australasian dairy produce. The demand for Australian si-,ltcd is mainly confined to speculators, and several parcels have changed hands this week at late rates. Unsalted butter is exceedingly scarce and when of a choice description is held for high prices. The small supply of choicest goods of all descriptions is a marked feature, with the result that holders of this class of»butter are very firm. Siberian : The arrivals this week total 38,865 casks. This description holds a commanding position in the trade at present, and with an active demand, all grades are clearing well, choicest ruling at from 104 s to 110 s, and medium grades at from 100 s to 102 s per cwt. Danish: Trade has been brisk in the 'Northern markets and also on the Continent, and prices have been further advanced. The official quotation has been raised 3 kroner, and now stands at 106 kroner as against 102 kroner at this period last year. The Copenhagen market is also reported firm. French : Supplies have been on a reduced scale, and w.ith a good demand in that country atfd a" healthy trade here, prices were raised last Monday and again yesterday. Irish butter meets a very 'firm market. Factories are 2s dearer, while creameries have been raised to 116 s and 118 s for sr.ltod, and 118 s to 120 s for unsalted of choicest quality. We quote: Victorian 100 s to 110 s per cwt, New South'Wales 100 s to 110 s, Queensland 100 s to 110 s; New Zealand nil, Danish 128 s to 130 w. The above quotations are for salted only.

Cheese.—The market for all descriptions is quiet but firm. We quote:'Now Zealand ,white, 655, i coloured 65s\ to 66s per ewt; Canadian, white, 64s to 655, coloured 65s to 66s per cwt.
