THE LEAGUE GAME
Auckland, September 6
The following team has been chosen to represent Australia against New Zealand under Northern Union rules; Hallett, Frawley, Farnsworth, Deane, Broomham, Norman, Holloway, Burge, Williams, Courtney, Sullivan and McCue. Deane is included in the team subject to the approval of the New Zealand League. The action of the Rugby League in suspending Deane is resented by the Australian team, which claims that the punishment was altogether disproportionate to the olfence. They state that they expect to win without Deane, but from loyalty to one of their most popular players resent the harsh treatment meted out to him. The council of the League this afternoon will consider the protest by the Australian manager.
