PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.
REV. MR. METSON SEEKS A CHANGE. A very largely attended quarterly meeting of the Primitive Methodist officials of the Stratford circuit was held at Stanley Road yesterday to transact general business. A unanimous and hearty invitation was extended to tho Rev. Basil Metson to remain for a further term in charge of tho church here. Several of those present spoke in kindly terms of the good work done by Mr Metson and strongly urged that he accept the invitation. The Rev. Mr Metson, who had already been four years in Stratford, after expressing his deep appreciation of the kindly and sincere request to remain, and the pleasant relations which bad always existed I>etween himself and bis congregation, said he felt it to bo bis duty to ask to bo released from this ministry at the customary’ period in March next. Other routine bus.ness was transacted and the meeting then adjourned.
