BURGLARY AT ELTHAM.
The tobacconist’s shop in Bridge Street, Eltham, owned by Mr Frans Farrell, was broken into on Wednesday night by a man or men wne de camped with about £4O worth ol to bacco and cigarettes. Mr rnrre I! discovered that tlie window had been forced and following the track of bare lootmarks on the floor into the adjoining apartment he missed a large quantity of te&acCo and cigarettes, so large an al Ant that it would seem impossible tim any on 6 person could have removed the whole of it. The safe aad till, however, which contained a sum of nearly £2O in silver and nob. s, was, strange to say, untouched. Mr Farrell immediately communicated with, the police, and Constable M ade made a careful examination of the premises, but we (Eltham Argus) are informed that no duetto the perpetration of this daring theft- bad been obtained at the time of going to press. This is the second tune Mr Furred has been the victim of theft in the course of the joar.
