Friedrich Wiinclmsbafen plotted revenge for the punishment of several natives for murdering a white resident. The conspiracy leaked nut and thsudngleaders were arrested by the assistance of the native police, who were loyal. The rank and file then lost confidence and abandoned the plot. The Coblenz conveyed 16 conspirators to Rabaul where-they wore (Sentenced to various terms of hard labour. While Hart, the aviator, was trying a new monoplane at a height of 200 •feet, the engine went wrong and the machine got out of control and crashed down to earth. Hart sustained a compound fracture of the left leg, a wound on the left thigh, and has right kneecap broken. James Patrick King, aged 26, was remanded at Sydney on a charge of murdering his wife Ellen by kicking.
