MR WILKINSON’S CAMPAIGN. 1 About 200 attended Mr Wilkinson's political meeting at Opunake on Mon day evening, at the conclusion of which lie received a hearty vote of thanks and confidence. An amendment of thanks only was supported by about half r dozen, but a large number- of hands went up for the motion, which was declared carried amidst prolonged np pi a use and enthusiasm. At the ensuing committee media;, there were -16 present, and with absentees the committee numbers GO. At Opua Road on Tuesday afternoon Mr Wilkinson was accorded a, vote of thanks and confidence by unanimou;vote. In the evening be visited Piliama. and although the weather was very unfavourable bad an audience ol nearly 50, After a bright and vigorous review of politics, a hearty vote of thanks was tendered to him on the motion ol Mr tS. Campbell. Mr A. McKcown, who seconded, said the address 'had been a social treat, and with one exception (Mr T. Mackenzie). Mr Wilkinson was the best speaker Who had been in the local hall. A committee of JO was formed, with Air Alkm ns secretary .
