o POTTER'S DEATH. A MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR. (Received 4, 12.40 p.m.) New York, September 3. Mrs Mary Potter, mother of Louis Potter, who died during treatment for skin disease at Seattle, made a statement that her son was addicted to the practice of occult sciences, but that lately he had abandoned them. He had studied Chinese and other Oriental mystics with a view to reaching a higher spiritual insight so as to enable him to proceed to greater development of his art. Potter lived under an. assumed name in consequence of family disputes rogarding Lis studies. The Ghiinese physician is missing. A post mortem examination will be made. The coi-oner is mystified as to the cause of death.
