SOURCE OF EXTREME DANGER ON BRITISH VESSELS.
CAUSE OF A RECENT WRECK. (Received 2, 9.0 a.m.) London, September 1. The Court of Enquiry into the loss of the steamship Mark Lane at Gibraltar, calls the Board of Trade’s attention to the fact that foreigners, ignorant of English, and unable to differentiate between orders relating to port and starboard were employed, which was a contributory cause to much loss of property and a breach ■ f the Merchant Shipping Act.
