A blasting accident occurred in the new Goverment quarry at Minnamurra, in the Wollongong district, where a siding is being constructed in connection with the railway works in the locality. The High Court ,by a majority dismissed the appeal of the Australia;! Widows' Fund against the decision in the action brought by the Nataiona: Mutual Life Company to recover £SOOO. The 'National insured a man named Moran'who reinsured in the Widows. When Moran died the National settled his claim but the Widows refused ; to, pay the reinsurance on the ground that the statements iu deceased's proposal were untrue. At the first trial the jury found some of Moran's statements to lie contrary to fact and judgment was entered for the Widow's, Then the National rippealed to the Full Court, which reversed the finding. The Widows carried the appeal to tfie High Court. Harrison, manager of a London firm of engravers, has been appointed Commonwealth! note printer.
