Ii is stated that the stand taken by tho matron has met with a large share of public sympathy, and that < \yvy of fort is being made to have this opinion publicly voiced at an early date. The board'meets again next week to consider its decision in regard to the recent enquiry, and it is understood that the Towii Hall gathering will be held as soon afterwards as possible.
