To realise an eight thousand pound stock in three months is a huge task, nevertheless, that is the one which confronts me in consequence of the expiry of the lease of jny promises at cha end of June. The great relinquishing sale forced upon me has now been running for one month, resulting in the disposal of a large amount oi goods, for which 1 have to thank my numerous patrons. The stock, however, is slid very heavy, and, as all the now poods contracted for have not yet been delivered, my efforts to empty the shelves must lie intensified rather than relaxed. It is hardly necessary now to speak of the greatness of the concessions being given ; hundreds of customers can testify to that.—A .“•pence.

WINTER TCP-CO ATS AT THE MELBOURNE. There is no store in Taranaki so well able to supply coats of quality at such low prices as the Melbourne. In a nutshell, the secret of such low prices is buying for spot cash and selling for spot cash. It is apparent that a firm like the Melbourne Clothing Company operating four busy cash stores in Taranaki, arc distributors and buyers of greater magnitude than any other similar organisation, hence it "would bo a strange thing indeed if the lingo cash discounts earned, tire concessions granted for taking large parcels, and the wonderful “jobs” secured through the potent agency of “ready cash,” did not allow this famous firm to undersell all competitors. And they do undersell.
