BOY SCOUTS.
THE CHIEF SCOUT’S VISIT. Final arrangements have now been made with the Railway Department for special rates for Scouts proceeding to Wellington on the occasion of the visit of Lieut.-General BadenPowell. Scouts will leave Stratford on Tuesday morning, and return on Friday. The fares are 4s Id for those under 15, a.nd .Ss 2d for the others. The proposed programme is as follows: Wednesday, 29 May.—4 p.m., Guard of Honour, Thorndou Station; 5 p.m., Reception of Officers and ex-officers; 7.15, Guard of Scouts at Town Hall; 8 p.m., Public Lecture. Thursday, 30th.—9 a.m., Rally Practice at Drill Hall, Buckle street, Mt. Cook; 10 a.m., Visit places of Interest in city; 1 p.m., Address by Chief Scout at N.Z. Club; 3 p.m., Scout and Cadet Review; 7.30, Send-off at Queen’s wharf.
The Scouts of the Stratford troop will he taken charge of by Wellington Scouts, who will take them to their homes, thus avoiding the necessity of camping out.
