Wnnganui, May 2-3. The weather was unfavourable foi the start of the first day of the Wanganui Jockey Club's ■ f winter meeting Heavy rain 'set in af 10 o'clock, anc continued till noon. The attendants was fair. Results :
Borough Handicap.—Allurement 1 Afterthought 2, Khamsin 3. Scratch ed: Merry Frank. Won by a length two lengths between second and third Time, lmin 17 2-ssec. Hack Steeplechase.—Drudgery 1 Makiri 2, Tonderghic 3.. Also started Moose, Hautere. Hautere fell half ; mile from home, when leading. Drudg ery won by a chain, there being several lengths between second and third
Wanganui Steeplechase.—Okaiahai 1, Continuance 2, Glen more !1 Scratched: Winiata and Zante. Wor by two lengths. 'Pleiades fell,-break ing his leg. Lovell palled up. Wbalca weira also fell. Time, Gmin 9 l-ssec.
