HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE
It was pleasant to see the crowded
audience which witnessed the programme submitted for the Convent benefit last night, when the pictures screened were of the best, and were thoroughly appreciated. A few remarks of thanks to Madame Bernard for her generosity, on behalf of the Sisters were made by Mr T. Lawson. Mr Sid Bernard, during the evening, gave a clever rendition of "Killarney." His triple tongue work was exceifent ,and received a great ovalion from the enthusiastic audience; To-night there 1 will be a big change of pictures, when "The New Superintendent" (drama), written around the blowing up of the groat Pennsylvania oil wells of America, will be shown. "The Rival Engine-drivers" and the other photo dramas are of a most thrilling order, whilst the comic, industrial, and natural history pictures arc of the latest and best. Pathe's Australian Gazette depicts the leading topical events of the month. On Saturday afternoon a prize matinee takes place at 2.30, when each, child will receive a present.
