CIRCULAR ROAD RACE.

PUBLIC MEETING. A public meeting was held in Ihe Borough Chambers last even: lg, under the auspices of the Circular Brad Race* Committee. The President (Mr. J. W. Williams) was in. the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. On the motion of the Mayor (Mr. G. W. Browne), it was decided that the race should be held again this year. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. G. W. Browne; president, Mr. W. J. Williams; vicepresident, Mr. W. C. Weston; hon. secretary, Mr. C. Davy; assistant secretary, Mr. J. McLood; hon. treasurer, Mr. E. Whittle; general committee, Messrs A. George, D. George, J. Elliott, E. Cattley, J. Clarke, J. Bennett, G. Griffiths, L. A. Edwards, H. Brooks, H. Moon, P. Fabian, J. McKean. M. Holah, G. Halo. W. Chong, G. Bell, Hawkin, W. J. Smith. and W. Little; executive, the patron, president, vice-presidnt, treasurer, p*cr«tary, Messrs. A. George and J. Clark.

Owing to the bad weather, the last race resulted in a lossS of £6 9s. This, stances, be considered very satisfactory. The prize money, including trophies, was last year close on £IOO. It is anticipated to give a somewhat similar amount this year.—" News."
