Dunedin, May 22

The members of the city fire brigade are very indignant over the appointment of an outsider to the position of superintendent. They point out that the appointment will mean that instead of three promotions of local men there will now ho none. At a meeting of members of the brigade lard night a motion expressing indignation was unanimously passed. They cited the Wellington City Council’s attitude in promoting members of the brigade as an example that should have been followed by the Dunedin Fire Board.
