Wellington, May 19

Elizabeth Henderson, a married woman, died suddenly at Kaiapoi yesterday, and at the inquest there to-day evidence was given. Dr. Crawshaw snid that the woman was pregnant. Death had been caused by abnormal conditions, which migbl have been caused by the use of an instrument. The deaceased's nine-year-old son said that .Mrs. Bridget Chalk was with his mother when she died. The inquest was adjourned until May 24. Mrs. Chalk was subsequently formally charged with having cause] ths death of Mrs. Henderson by an unlawful act. She was remanded until May 24.
