The Arbitration Court fined the Builders' and Contractors' Genera] Labourers' Industrial Union COO and costs for instigating, inciting and ordering a strike of members of the union engaged in drainage works in Auckland city, which arose over objection to sub-contracting. In the case against the Waterside Workers' Industrial Union arising out of the strike of unionists discharging the steamer Paparoa, Judge Sim said it was ckar that tiio l union secretary was aiding and abetting the men, but Collet's action was not expressly authorised by iihe union, wherefore judgment must lie for defendants.
