Tn the case of'John Robin v. U.S.S. Co., claiming compensation for loss of voice through injury ’ sustained in an accident while being in the company’s employ, the Arbitration Court awarded £39 Is, being of tne opinion that hoarseness would not interfere with his employment as a wharf labourer. Christchurch, May 14. Bert Smith, ex-bookmaker, was this morning fined £2O and costs for betting on the Biccarton racecourse.
