Timam, May 13, At a meeting of the South Canter bury local bodies’ delegates to-day Mr W. S. Mast in and Mr. €. N. Or 1)6 1 were appointed to attend the Welling ton conference on the Local Government Bill. A resolution was passer that while improvements in the pres outlaws would be appreciated, the nil is not acceptable, and its adopt tor would increase the cost and lessen tin efficiency of local government. w inclusion of Waitaki County in tur South Canterbury province is regarded as a strange thing, as the two dis ft tricts have practically nothing what- " ever in. common. The chairman or the meeting, Mr. F'. R. Gillingham, condemned the whole measure as undemocratic and in no way acceptable. Others said the hospital and education management must suffer if the Bill iwas adopted.
