Tlk> Royal Commission appointed to inquire into matters connected with leases under the West Const Settkj tnent Reserves Act, ]SSI, commenced ' its sittings yesterday afternoon. Dr. | \V. A. McArthur (chairman) and Mr | \V. Kerr, Magistrates, are tho eommis--1 doners. Mr R. I"). Welsh is appearing for the lessees and Mr W. H. D. ; Roll for the native owners.
