N.Z. BOXING COUNCIL. (Per Press Association.) Chrhstchurch, May 6 r ' The New Zealand Boxing Council re-elected Sir Joseph Ward patroii, and Mr. W. Atack secretary. The bal-ance-sheet showed a credit of £lO4. The Council had a long discussion on a quest'on raised- by the Hawke's Bay and Greymouth associations. The latter, witii the Council's' sanction, 'arranged a match between Mitchell iand Ireland on May 18th for the heavyweight championship.. Subsequently the" Council was informed that the Hawke's Bay Association had matched Mitchell and Ireland for April 20th. At the Council's request Greymouth gave way. It has now been decided to call on Mitchell for an .explanation and also submit a full statement of the case to affiliated bodies, with a request that they should strictly respect one another's engagements. .The New Zealand championships were allotted to Wellington.
