THE HON. H. G. ELL. (Per Press Association.) Wanganui, May 1. The Hon. H. G. Ell, accompanied by Mr D. Robertson, secretary of the Post and Telegraph' Department, arrived here this afternoon. They inspected the local post office, and discussed the questions of improving-the accommodation in the exchange, the installation of slot-machines in business thoroughfares, and the extending of the postal delivery. The Minister will receive deputations to-day, and will afterwards be taken for a tour of the district. On Friday morning he will leave for Rangiwahia, to open the new post office and to attend a banquet in the evening. He will catch the Main Trunk train at Mangaweka on Saturday for Wellington.
