THE RAILWAYS.
Taranaki people have just and reasonable cause of complaint against the Railway Department of late, owing to the utter disregard of timetables, which seems to be the rule rat.;or than the exception. The so-called express arrives at any time, an much inconvenience is caused to everybody. The new Minister for Railways might well enquire into the matter, and sec if he cannot at least give Taranak: a moderately reliable time-table. It be did this, ho would earn the thanks ol many. Exactly for whose convenience trains are run anyhow, it is difficult to determine. For instance, there is to he a military sports at the Territorial Camp on Wednesday next, but for some reason not apparent, excursion tickets to Ha.wcra will be issued on Tuesday only: at least, this is all we can gather from the notice published. Either the matter lias not been very clearly placed before the Traffic Department or else an official blunder has been mu de.
