SMACK WRECKED.

Advice was received by the Collector of Customs to-day chat a portion of a yacht or fishing boat, comprising too transom bearing the name “Edna, Auckland,” had been washed ashore at Tiyphena, on the Great Punier The wreckage in all probability is from the fishing smack Edna, which has been engaged in the fishing trade for some months. She is owned by Mr J. Gallagher, of Parnell, who left early on Monday morning for the Great Barrier to follow his usual occupation, and lias not been heard of since. The weather in thoi gulf has been boisterous lately, and possibly the little craft was blown ashore and went to pieces. THE SKIPPER SAVED. Auckland, April 11. The fishing yacht Edna was Wrecked at Pigeons and is a total loss. She was driven ashore by heavy sea. The owner, Gallagher, the only man aboard, was rescued by a scow.
