NEWTON I' INO S WEKKIA' ( REPORT. At my supplementary sheep fair in the Douglas yards on Friday, loth, notwithstanding the wretched weather I had a heavy yarding of sheep, fully 9000 being penned. Buyers were present in good numbers, and bidding j being very brisk, I had a successful | sale, practically every line being sold | at the following rates :—2-tooth owes , 12s 7d, 10s Id, 9s lid, 9s, 2-tooth wethers 12s Id, 10s od, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 13s, 12s 7d, 4-tooth wethers 13s and 12s 6d, 4-tooth ewes 12s lOd and 12s 7d, f.f.m. ewes 8s 7d, 8s od, 8s 2d, 7s lid, 7s Bd, 6s lid and 5s 9d,9d, f.m. ewes 5s Id, ss, Is 7d, 4s 4d, 3s lid and 3s 4d, 4-tooth to f.m. ewes 8s Gd, lambs sd, Os 3d, Gs 2d, 5s 7d, rams 1 to/lgns. At Toko on Monday I had, a good entry and attendance. The bettor class weaners sold well. Prices realised were;—Mixed weaners 15s to £1 8s Gd, weaner heifers, best, £2 7s 6d, others £1 9s to £1 15s 6d, weaner steers £1 7s Gd, 18-months heifers £2 12s Gd to £3 ss, store cows £1 17s to £3 2s Gd, forward cows £3 Gs Gd to £4 10s, fat cows £5 Is, bulls £2 5s to £3 ss, f.m. ewes 3s lOd to 5s lid, f.f.m. ewes 7s 3d, 4, G, and f. m. ewes 9s lOd, lambs 4s sd. My next sale will be a combined sheep and cattle sale on Monday, Ist April. At my Stratford yards I had a big entry of cattle, all pens being well filled, 18-months and stemswere yarded iii the majority, but wife not enquired for. Ordinary weaners were dull, prices being' at lower rates. A nice peii of grade Jersey weaners realise'd, after good competition, £2 4s Gd. Other prices were:—t Weaner heifers £1 4s, £1 16s Gd, poor 15s to 19s, weaners steers, poor, 13s, 18-months mixed, £2 14s Gel, good 18-months steers £3 7s, choice 20- grade Jersey, in calf, heifers £4 to £5 10s, cow and calf £3 11s, store cows £1 7s Gd to £2 13s, forward cows £3 10s to £4 7s, fat cows £4 12s Gd to £4 19s, prime! fat heifers £5, ' 2J-ycar steers, good, £1 12s Gd and £4 13s, bulls £2 7s 6:1 to £3 ss. On the same day for my supplementary sheep fair, at the Stratford yards, I had a good entry and very successful sale 1 . Bidding throughout for most lines was good. Prices ob tained being satisfactory. Some fine pens of 2-tooth ewes v ere penned, the best of these being sold at the. hammer at from 14s to 15s. A large number of bad coloured weaner and 18-months cattle were entered for sale, but did not obtain any competition. Two nice lots of 18-months cattle “were yarded on account of Mr Ohas. Andrews, and sold readily after good competition. Prices realised were:—Mixed weaners 18s Gd to £1 ,4s, weaner steers 19s Gd, weanerheifers £1 3s Gd to £1 9s, 18-months heifers in calf £3 15s, 21-year heifers £3 11s to £4 11s, 18-months steers £3 7s to £3 7s Gd, store cows £1 4 s to £3, forward cows £3 Ss Gd to £4 3s, fat cows £4 3s to £5 10s, dairy cows £7, fat wethers 13s Bd. AUSTRALIAN WHEAT. London, March 21. Wheat.—Australian cargoes sold at 37s 41d, 37s 9d, 38s, and 38s lid, respectively. PALMERSTON STOCK REPORT. Palmerston, March. 21. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: At our Palmerston North sale, held on Thursday, the 21st instant, we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, which met with a good sale at late rates. Wo quote: Two-tooth ewes 13s lid, small 9s 9d, 4. and 5-year ewes 10s lid, 12s, 12s Id to 13s; aged owes Gs, Gs 5d to 7s 2d and 7s 3d; fat owes, heavy Mr. Gd; cattle, 20-month steers £3 0s Gd, 21- 'steers £4 16s, 3-ycar steers £5 7s Gd, 18-month heifers £3 18s Gd, small 3-1 s to £3 3s, weaners 20s ■to 28s, springing cows £4 15s to £lO. hulls £2 to £2 10s.
