A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
CONSIDERS APPOINTMENT OF SECRETARY. GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. There was a splendid attendance of members of the general committee of the Stratford A. and P. Association at the secretary’s office this afternoon. The president, Mr AY. P. Kirkwood, was in the chair. The only business arising out of the minutes was the report by the president that the showgrounds had been let to Mr T. Colson at the very satisfactory figure of £3B per annum. The chairman then proceeded with the principal business of the afternoon. Applications for the position of secretary, he said, had been received from Canterbury in the South to the AVaikato in the North. He would impress upon members that on their selection of a secretary rested very much the success of the Association. “Ho needs a number of qualifications, but I have no doubt that you will he able to arrive at a satisfactory decision.” There were twenty candidates for the position, nine being Stratford residents.
