SAVINGS BANKS.
AMALGAMATION SCHEME FOR NEW SOUTH WALES. COMMONWEALTH COMPETITION. Sydney, March 22. The Council rejected the Assembly’s Bill for the amalgamation of savings hanks. The object of the Bill is to strengthen the banks in order the better to compete -with the Commonwealth Bank.
