Tiie gifts comprised a slieep, a calf, a piig, poultry, fruit, vegetables, and sundries; all realising satisfactory prices, as is shown by the sum realised, £l2. VThe programme was as follows: Opening piece, “Old Hundredth”; anthem by choir, “God’s Holy Church shall Triumph Yet,” “Hear the Trumpet Loudly Calling,” “Praise and •Magmfy His Name,” “Hail, Lovely Spring,” and “Ring the Joy Bells” ; solos, Mr. X. Day, Miss Maunsell, and Miss Fields (“Charity”), all of Toko Road; duet,“The ’Master Stood in His Garden,” Miss N. Maxwell and 'Mirs Cartwright; trio, “I Surrender All,” Miss Allan, Miss Cartwright, and Mr. E. T. King; solos, Mr. J. Griffiths (“The Holy City”), and Miss Bennett (Inglewood). Much crocl.t is due to Miss Bain (organist), whose valuable services to the choir had done much to make the social a success. 1 At the close the chairman thanked one a i d all on behalf of the church committee for their kindly help and gifts, and after the singing of the Doxology a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close.
