MacCalman (Christchurch) and E. J. Bartlett (Invercargill) dead-heated, with I { . ise (Christchurch) 3. The men decided to run off, when MacCalman won easily. In the 120vds Hurdles, Gerald Keddell put up a good performance. Owing to want of space the distance was only Xls yards, which Kecdcll, starting from 30yards behind scratch covered in 18sec dead. The actual distance run by Keddell was 145yds. which works out at a shade over 15 l-osec for 120 yards distance. The champion has not had a shoe on smee the New Zealand amateur championship, on which _ occasion he was far from well, and it was with diffidence that he came out to-day. SPORTS AT BLENHEIM. Blenheim, March 21. The weather . was overcast for the Hibernian sports. Keen disappointment was felt as Postle and Kinsey failed to keep their engagement to run at the sports. Postle telegraphed on morning of sports that they wertunable to leave Nelson. The prize money totalled £250. The St. Patrick’s Sheffield Handicap, 120yds, first pr ze £6O, resulted:—J. C.
