IMPORTS TWENTY LOCOMOTIVES

Cabinet has decided to forego its policy of manufacturing engines locally for the .present, and has cabled an order to,England for twenty. The decision was made with reluctance.
WORKSHOPS INADEQUATE. . (Received 14, 9.20 a.n\.) Sydney, March 14. The Commissioner . replies to Mr. McGowen’s statement regarding the local manufacture of engines, that in December, -1910, the Everleigh shops were able to construct only 25 locomotives annually.' Therefore it was necessary to import largely.
