Sydney, March 11. There' was a vast crowd at the Town Mall meeting to protest against the action of the board of Control. It was decided almost unanimously that the action of the Board was inimical to tin; best interests of Australian cricket. The appearance of Noble was the signal for terrific applause. It did not cease until lie rose and acknowledged the compliment. Mr. Holman declared that the Board had violated the constitution by ignoring Rule 9. Although the Board had refused to give the playms an answer to the question concerning tiie appointment of a manager, it asked for the unconditional acceptance of the invitation. He considered that what was sauce for the goose should he sauce for the gander. Mr. Wade said that even at this late hour something should be done to see that Australia was represented by its best team. As at present constituted, it was not the best. There should be give-and-take on both sides. His sympathies were with the six players who had refused to fall in with the Board’s demand. (Received 12, 10.50 a.m.) ■Sydney, March 12. Mr. Wade’s motion that the Board of Control he requested to take the necessary steps to ensure Australia sending a .representative team for the trangular matches was carried. Noble, in moving that the resolutions ho forwarded to the Board, said he did not object to the Board, but to some members of it. He strongly objected to a democratic board being governed by a despot. The evident intention of the rides was that players should appoint their manager, the Board to ratify tliat appointment.
