CRICKET.

The South Taranaki competition is now at a very interesting stage. When the members of the'local team passed through Hawera on their way from Manaia, the news of their victory was joyfully received by two of the Hawera team, who, now that Mana a is put back a point or two, are exceedingly sanguine as to their hopes in pulling off the cup. That is as maybe. Meanwhile, the Stratford Club has got a good team out for their fixture with Hawera on the A. and P. Showground on Thursday, consisting of the following players :—Messrs. Boyes, Dunlop, Prebble, Smith, Jackson, Richmond, Fowler, Turkman, Sanson, Jennings, and Hartley; emergencies: Qnickfall and C. Jackson. Players are requested to be on the ground by 2.15 p.m.
