Mr Rothschild was not hit but a policeman was wounded : and the glass of the motor car was shat tored. London, March 5. The alleged discovery of gold in the Cochrane district, Alberta, ha; fizzled out. A gang of robbers tried to loot the safes pi the Royal Bank at Montreal West. The police , discovered them and revolver fire was exchanged. One robber fell dead on the floor near a safe which had been dynamited. The other ram away and after a ‘brisk pursuit escaped.
