SPORTS PROTECTION.
MEETING TO FORM BRANCH OF* N.Z. LEAGUE. ON TUESDAY NEXT. We are asked to remind the public and members of all branches of sports clubs in Stratford of the meeting which is to be held at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening next at S o’clock, for the purpose of establishing a branch of the League at Stratford. The provincial district secretary will bo present to address the meeting on the aims and objects and policy of the League. Although only established in New Zealand some five ■months, over 70,000 members have ■ been enrolled—in one district alone Hawke’s Bay) close on 10,000 member's are associated with the movement. The Board of Control is as follows:—Sir George Clifford, Mr. H. 1). Bell. KrCU Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., Mr. .1. B. Coates, general manager of the National Bank of New Zea_ land, and the Hon. Dr. Collins, M.L.C.—gentlemen who are well known from end to end of the Dominion. The Dominion has been divided into ton districts, and the board’s policy of organisation is being rapidly executed in each district with much success and enthusiasm. It is confidently expected that branches of the League will be established throughout New Zealand by the end of May, and tiie membership reach something like 150,000. Sports’ club secretaries, officials, and members are particularly requested to attend Tuesday night’s meeting.
