RELIGIOUS TOLERATION PROMISED J3Y THE PRESIDENT. COMMANDERS SUBMITTING... (Received 26, 9.0 a.m.) Pekin, February 25. Yuan-Shih-Kai, replying to congratulations of a Protestant Christians’ deputation, promised to remove all religious disabilities and enforce toleration everywhere. It is reported that the fighting in Manchuria was exaggerated and various commanders have sent notice of submission to Yuan-Shih-Kai.
