1 he first , of the yearly series of competitions for the “Nobel Ballestite o-xip ’ was held on the racecourse last i hursday, the attendance being somewhat small owing to the New Plymouth races, several prominent shootists having succumbed to this attraction. H. Campbell was in good form, and besides making top score in the cup shoot he also annexed the sweepstake held, subsequently, though closely pressed by W. It. Foley and A. Scott respectively.
