CRICKET.
The local club are playing a match this afternoon—Single v. Married men. With the membership of the club as low as it is, however, it is doubtful whether full teams will be got together. The*fixtures of the second round are as follows:
February 22nd.—Stratford, a bye ; Hawera v! Okaiawa; Manaia B v. Eltham; Normanhy v. Manaia A. February 28. —Stratford v. Normanhy; Manaia B v. Manaia A; Eltham v. Okaiawa ; Hawera, a bye. Marcli 7th.—Hawera v. Eltham; Manaia A v. Stratford; Okaiawa v. Normanby; Manaia B, a bye. March 13th.—Eltham v. Manaia A; Stratford v. Hawera; Manaia B v. Normanby; Okaiawa, a bye. March 21st.—Normanby v. Eltham ; Okaiawa v. Stratford; Hawera v. Manaia B: Manaia A, a bye. < March 28th.—Manaia A v. Okaiawa ; Normanby v. Hawera; Stratford v. Manaia B; Eltham, a bye.
In these fixtures the name of the team on whose ground the match will be played is placed first. The match for "which Stratford was unable to got a team will be played on the Thursday following the fixture with Manaia B.
The position of the teams at tho end of the first round shows Hawera in the lead with one loss and five wins. Eltham is with three wins and two losses, while Stratford secures the next position with two wins, one draw, and two losses. Hawera’s defeat by Manaia came somewhat as a surprise. The team which beat Stratford was unable to put up more than 44 rims against Manaia’s 150. •
