(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, February 19. In the' Supreme Court to-day, decrees nisi were granted in the following divorce cases :—Mary Mason Kidd v. Thomas Allen Kidd, desertion; Mary Hannah Jolly v. Robert Jolly, misconduct; Mary Sinclair v. Jan. Sinclair, desertion; Margaret King v. Frederick Henry King, desertion. Napier, February 20. For selling pepper containing a quantity of starch, the manager of the Farmers’ Co-operative Association was fined £5 and costs. The Magistrate said the public paid high enough prices for groceries, and were entitled to protection. As a sequel to a recent recordbreaking performance, in which J. L, Braithwaite, motor-cycled from Wellington to Napier in a little over six hours, he was before the Court charged with furious riding. Evidence was given that defendant was travelling between thirty :Ind forty miles an hour, but defendant said 'he d ; d not consider this a dangerous speed. The Magistrate, however, held a different opinion, and imposed a fine of £5 and costs.
