At Strathmore on Friday, 9th inst., wo hold our monthly sale. Few cattle came forward but \ve had a lair yarding of sheep. We quitted the old owes and Jambs at satisfactory values. Forward cows made £4 10s, good f.m. ewos 9s, others Gs 3d: to Gs 9d, cull do. 3s, shorn hunbs Gs to 7s. At Stratford on Tuesday, 13th, we had a full yarding. ' The supply exceeded the demand and values were consequently slightly easier than recent ruling rates. However, 'we quitted a fair -quantity at satisfactory prices. Fat heifers made £4 15s, forward cows £4 2s to £4 12s, store do. £3 to £3 15s, 3-year store bullocks £5 15s, 2^-year do. £4 9s, 18-month to 2-year old £3 Is ,Gd to £3 13s Gd, yearling to 15-month 1 £2 Gs >Gd to £2 17s Gd, yearling to 15-month heifers £2 14s to £3, weaners 21s to 345. Our next cattle sale will take place on Tuesday, 27th, .and our supplementary sheep fair on Wednesday, 28th February. i

At my annual sheep fair at Uronui on Friday, 9th, J had a very heavy entry, sheep coming forward quite up to advertised numbers. Hams were penned in excess of the number entered but were not wanted by the public. Bidding was good for nearly all classes excepting lambs and old ewes, prices for the former being on the low side while old sheep as usual were hard to quit. Most lines, however, were cleared during the day at the following prices: Lambs prime fat 9s 4d, good 5s to 7s, other 3s to 4s lid, 2-tooth ewes good 14s, others 11s Gd to 42s Gd, poor Bs, 4-tooth Owes 11s 9d to 12s, 6-tooth ewes 12s lid, f.f.m. owes 7s Gd to 8s Gd, f.m. ewes Gs *Bd to Bs, mixed owes 7s 3d to 9s 7d, old ewes 3s to 5s 7d, sound mouth ewes 8s lid to 12s_ sd, 2-tooth fat and forward wethers 43s 2d to 13s Dd, 2-tooth wethers best 12s 2d to 13s sd, good 10s to 12s, others 8s 4d, 4-tooth wethers 12s 2d to 435, 6-tooth wethers 14 s 4d, 2,4, and 6-tooth wethers 13s Gd, rams 2 to 4- gns.

At. my Whangamomona yards on Saturday, 10th, the lull number of sheep and cattle 'were' penned. Bidding at the hammer w,as good for most cattle but was rather dull for sheep, although practically every pen was cleared (after the sale at satisfactory prices. 15-month heifers made £3, 15 to 20-month steers £S Gs to £3 10s, 2-year steers £3 14s to £3 IGs Gd, 21-year steers (good line) £4 12s, Holstein 20-month bull £5 7s Gd, 2-tooth wethers 11s Gd, 2-tooth ewe’s 12s Bd, 4,6, and f.m'. ewes 13s; '4 and G-tootlr owes 10s Gd, f.m. eAcs 6s to 8s lid, aged ewes 2s Gd, rains 23s 4d to 31 gns. Next sale Wednesday, 6th March. - At Waiwakaiho yards for my annual sheep fair on Monday, I had a much larger entry than anticipated, sheep coming forward in excess of entries advertised. 'Bidding throughout being very brisk good business was done during the day, everything with the exception of a few pens and some rams being cleared at the hammer.. Some good lots of fat sheep were penned, and sold well after keen Competition. Prices realised were:— 2-tootib to f.m. ewes 12s Id, 2-tooth ewes 11s to 11s lid, 4-tboth ewes 14s, f.f.m ewes 9s 5d to 10s. Id, 4 and G-tooth ewes 16s Id, f.m. ewes 5s 8d to 6s, mixed ewes 5s Gd to 7s 3d, aged ewes 3s to 4s Id, 2-tooth wethers 11s to 12s Id, lambs 5s to 9s, rams 1 to 2.V gns, fat lambs prime heavy 11s Id, 12s Bd, 14s 3d, fat ewes 11s Id, 12s, 13s Id, fat Avethers 13s lid, prime 15s Gd to 16s sd, extra prime h’oavyAveight fat caacs 14s 7d, 14s lOd, 15s, IGs 9d. .

At my Raliotu sale on Tuesday I had only a fair entry of cattle, which with the (exception of oiie pen of fat cows were sold at tire hammer at the following prices: Coloured steers £2 ■ls, mixed weaners 15s, ils-inonth steers £2 10s to £2 19s, store cows £2 9s to £3 9s, forward cows £3 19s Gd to .£ I Is. fat cows prime £5 3s to £5 7s Gd, hulls £3 8s Gd, fat stag £5 18s.

During the week I have sold a good number of cattle and sheep at the following rates: Fat wethers 16s, forward wethers 13s lid, 2-tobth wethers 12s Gd to 13s Cd, 4-tooth owes 13s Gd, mixed sheep 7s !)d, 11s Gd, 18s, lambs 3s, 5s 9d, .7s sd, fat laihbs 9s 3d, 18-month steers £3 Gd, fat cows £5 Is Gd to £5 10s, fat heifers £5 7s Gd, choice 20-month -grade Holstein heifers £5 10s to £7.

Matthews and Bennett's Repor?,

Messrs. Matthews and Bennett report a very good entry and attendance at their Tar.ita sheep' fair. Balding was very slow and very little business was done at the hammer, but good business was done after the pale at the following rates:—2-tooth wethers 11s Gd to 12s 2d, cull 2 tooth ewes 9s (kl to 10s 3d, lambs 5s 3d to 6s, good do., 7s 2d, f.m. ewes Gs to 8s 2d, cull do. 3s Gd, ewes (mixed ages) 11s to 12s 3d.

At their Mart on Saturday last pigs brought as follows:—Wearier pigs made 9s to 12s Gd, stores IGs to 18s. porkers 2!s to 2Gs. On Wednesday, owing to the New Plymouth races, there was a small yarding of cattle and a small attendance. Prices were as followslß month steers £2 Is to £3 Is, 18 month heifers £2 Is to £2 12s, store cows £3 Is to £3 Bs, forward do. £3 15s to £4, bulls £2 10s to £3 15s, wcaners (good) 25s to 30s, inferior IGs to £l.
