(Per Press Association ) Auckland, February 14. News was received by the police to-day that a man named George White had been killed in the bush at Taheke yesterday. No details are available. Gisborne, February 14. A fire at Ormond yesterday destroyed a six-roomed residence belonging to Eric Parsons. The insurances are unknown. It is understood that the owner is a heavy loser. Wellington, February 14.
The police received information that the three-year-old daughter of James Tucker, of Dyerville, was burnt to death this morning through her clothes catching fire while she was playing .with matches. At the Federation of Boot Manufacturers’ meeting here to-day, the following officers were elected: President, Mr H. Dearsley; vice-presid-ent, Mr F. O’Brien; treasurer, Mr A. Trenwith; executive, Messrs Mapplobeck, O’Brien, Frame, Kingsland, and Hodgson.
