The Stratford Evening Post WITH WHICH IS INCORPORATED THE EGMONT SETTLER. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9th., 1912. TOO SERIOUS.
Sortie people take their politics very seriously, (though such extreme ox T ampleis are seldom met with in this enlightened hand. English papers, however tell that at a recent meeting ol' the Town Council of a. holiday i;eisort Jn Wales,, a letter was received from a London resident in which the determination was expressed to boycott Wales because of Mr. Lloyd George’s iniquities. This Londoner bad noted <tho 'desire of I the district to attract more visitors, so ho thought it Inis duty to draw the town, clerk’s attention to the futility of attempting to do this “while the British Jlslos are governed by the present Radical Cabinet, and the member for your constituency is Mr LloydGcorge.” The writer said that both lie and his' partner had, prior to 1907, spent many holidays in Wales, “but nothing would induce either of us to spend future holidays in Wales while a man of the class of Mr Lloyd-Goorgc is in power, doing his best to set class against class forcing uhjust measures through a gagged, guillotined House of Commons, determined to pass a Bill of spoliation and robbery such as Welst Disestablishment and Disendowment.” If the “fine air” of the district produced this kind of man, and the electors sent him to Parliament, they must take the consequences. The Town Clerk replied that Wales was justly proud of Mr Lloyd-Goorgo, but that the climate of his town was equable, and its -air would enable his correspondent to forget hu’s political worries. But this and a, reminder that it had always boon a glory of British people that they forgot political differences in social relations, did not soften the sentiment of the Londoner, for he wrote reiterating his sentiments.
