The Emperor in future will be known as the “Emperor of the Alanchus,” and will reside at the outset in the Forbidden City, but eventually in the Summer Palace.

The Chinese will show him due courtesy, but not fealty and obedience. The Republic will supply a bodyguard. The present Palace staffs will be retained, and the Emperor will annually receive four million dollars (taels will be abolished when tho currency is reformed). All the private property of the Emperor, and of the M'anchu, Tibetan and Alongol princes will be respected.
