London, February G. The Argentine shipments of meat and mutton amounted to 297,000 lambs, 75,500 frozen beef, 138,750 quarters of frozen beef, and 145.509 chilled beef. The Commerce and Tourists Division has received the following cablegram from Buenos Ayres, dated February 6th :—The following shipments of produce were despatched from the Argentine to United Kingdom ports during January, 1912 (compared with January, 1911); Frozen beef (quarters), 145,000 (147,68-1); chilled beef, 155.000 (176,842); frozen mutton (carcases), 241,000 (317,092); frozen lamb, 39.000 (66,937); butter (cwt.) 3120 (720). 1 AUCKLAND WOOL SALE. Auckland, February 7. . At the final wool sale of the season to-day 2863 bales were offered. A feature was the lambs’ wool,, which sold generally at 9d and 9fd, and topped with 10d', a rise of Id to l£d over last sale. <■ Other lines; were damaged and coarse crossbreds, which/ were Id lower. LONDON WOOL SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 3rd instant:—Wool sales: The sales, closed with good competition; 169.000 bales of wool were sold, 68,000 of which were taken for the Continent, and 7000 for America. As compared with last sales’ closing rates prices rre about the same for greasy crossbred, lower by about par to 5 per cent, for crossbred slipe, and lower by about 5 per cent, for merino, inferior and scoured crossbred. There is a decreased American demand for crossbred, wool.
