SUNDRY SPORTS.

ENGLAND v. TASMANIA

By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, United Press Association.

Hobart, January 23

The weather was pleasant and the wicket good for the match between England, and Tasmania. The omission of Hobbs, Gunn, Douglas, and Smith detracted from the interest in tho match.

The home side won tho toss and scored 217, which, but for the failure of the last live wickets, which added only 25 runs, should have been materially larger.

Martin, Tumulty, and McKenzie, local players, gave sparkling and dianceless displays of versatile batting. There was disappointment bemuse Foster and Barnes did not bowl for England. Scores:—
