THE TERRITORIALS.

In district orders, Colonel Chaytor, commanding the Wellington district, notifies: “Owing to tho fact that many officers could not present themselves for examination for promotion in November last, and to give those who failed at that examination a chance to sit again, a special examination for promotion will bo hold on the third Tuesday in March. In future examinations for promotion will be held on’the third Tuesday in February and August, instead of May and November, commencing next August.”

A parade was held last night in the School Gymnasium of the Senior Cadets. There was a good muster, and the new drillshed was found eminently suitable for the purpose. Some slight difficulty was experienced in the parade clashing with the practice of the Stratford Band, but this, no doubt, can be easily rectified.

The mounted men will continue to use the old Masonic Hall.
