Mr. Newton King lias received the following cable from his Sydney agents ro hides : “Very firm.” A Press Association telegram from Podding announces the death of Mr. F. W. Koherstoin, aged HI, one of the oldest residents of the district. The animal general meeting of members of the Stratford A. and P. Association will be held in the Borough Con noil Chambers on Saturday, February 3rd, at 1.30 o’clock. The Borough Overseer, in another column, announces that from 1 to 4 p.m. to-morrow, water mains in Cordelia Street, Sylvia Street, Rosalind Street, Fenton Street East, and Swansea Road, will be cut oil.
