FOUR NEW STEAMERS
Dunedin, January 21 The Union Steamship Company has four steamers in the hands of Home, builders—viz., an intercolonial liner of 13,000 tons, a twin vessel to the Maori For the Lyttclton-Wellington service, vnd two cargo steamers. Of the latter me is a sister ship to the Kowhai, .specially constructed for service- at shallow harbours, and will be christmed Karamu. Its registered tonnage : s 8000 tons. The other is a larger vessel of 8750 tons, and will be named the Katoa. . Doth steamers will "be equipped with the latest appliances for the rapid removal of cargo.
