POSTAL FACILITIES.
STRATI'ORD CARRIERS’ DELIV-
ERIES iEXTENDED. PRIVATE BOX BUSINESS. Commencing on Monday next, the 22nd instant, a largely extended delivery by letter-carriers will be inaugurated at Stratford. The area to be covered comprises all the main roads leading from the borough for a distance of two or three miles. The innovation should be a great convenience to settlers, besides reducing the congestion at the Post Office counter. Following are the particulars of the proposed extension: —
First delivery.—Extended to include all that portion of the borough and outskirts bounded on the north by Monmouth Road, on the north-east by borough boundary, on the east by Kahouri bridge, ,on the south-east by a point on Warwick Road a quarter of a mile beyond Swansea Road, on the south by the railway crossing beyond Bird Road (taking in Nash and Hills Roads), on the south-west by Brooks Road a quarter of a mile beyond Brecon Road, on the west by Mr W. G. Malone’s residence (Opuuako Road), and on the north-west by the junction of the Pembroke and Monmouth Roads. Second delivery.—Extended to include all that portion of the borough bounded on the north by Pembroke Road, on the north-east by the junction of Pembroke Road and Orlando Street, on the east (in Regan Street only beyond Orlando Street) by Swansea Road, on the south-east by tho junction of Cloton Road and Cordelia Streets, on the south by Celia Street, on tho south-west by junction of Celia and Hamlet Streets, on the west by Hamlet Street and on the north-west by the junction of Hamlet street and Pembroke Road. Concurrently with the extension of tho deliveries a more strict regard ivill be paid to the regulations in respect of tho privileges of private box
holders Ilian lias obtained hitherto, from Monday next only correspond•nce for the principal or principals, or for others definitely addressed to the box number will lie sorted into private boxes. Correspondence for employees and others will be delivered by letter-carriers.
